Bill’s – Gloucester Quays

Lovely setting, excellent service, but food needs work

Spent a pleasant lunch-time here, in a lovely location, people-watching, reading the paper…. Hassle-free, friendly & polite service from Gabby. She’s a credit to Bill’s.

This was my second attempt in a Bill’s at having a good Eggs Benedict, one of my fave brunches. At the previous one in Cheltenham recently, the muffins were under-cooked, so I asked for more well-done muffins. I think there must be a problem with the quality of the muffins as these were chewy, over-cooked (well, I did ask for them to be well done…). Meat was slightly dry as though it had been sitting under a warming device. Pleasant taste though. Sauce was nice. Service was very good.

Soft drinks are IMHO over-priced at £3.75 for a ginger beer. I could get a couple of glasses of wine in our fave places in Spain or a craft beer in America for that!

Verdict: great location, but better quality control needed & a review of soft drinks pricing.
